Dear friends of Downtown Ogden,
WE NEED YOUR VOICE!!!
Next Tuesday, March 15Th at 6:00 p.m., in the Ogden City Building, The Ogden City Council is reviewing the contract with Downtown Ogden Inc. As you know, Downtown Ogden Inc. provides services to and is partners with the Downtown Ogden merchants in providing a myriad of events that create gathering opportunities in Ogden’s Downtown. Examples of this include Festivals and Events, Amphitheater and Street Concerts, Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, Ogden’s Historic Farmer’s and Art Market, Monday Night Movies, the Downtown Trolleys and Jupiter Train Rides, Historic 25Th Street Car Show, Wild West Shootout, Trail to Pioneer Days Painted Horses Exhibit, Flower Basket, Beautification and Graffiti Patrol, and many, many more. We feel that we can safely estimate a draw to these events of over 200,000 attendees annually.
The renaissance of Downtown Ogden that has gained local, state and national attention is due in part to the programs provided by Downtown Ogden, Inc. As a community, we cannot afford to have this positive momentum halted and return to the Ogden of ten years ago that has been characterized as “Dark, Dirty and Dangerous.”We ask for your participation this night to help us communicate the value of Downtown Ogden Inc – especially the value they provide to our Downtown Business District.
Please plan on attending, your voice is critical for all our success! Please forward to your friends that love Ogden.
Sincerely,
Dan Musgrave

Wednesday-Thrills and chills at 10:55 AM

Yesterday was amazing. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and i barely even needed a jacket. I haven't been on my bike in a few days and was itching to ride So the babe and i bikes into downtown to meet Bryan for a family date. Our go to place in downtown is always Roosters, we never seem like a burden being there and the food is always great.

Today i plan on going to the tree house museum, the best place to exhaust your kids ever. The trick is to play with them but not too much. For instance point out something cool and say' race you there' but pretend run while they bolt. By the end of your trip they are ready for a 3 day nap and you still have enough energy to catch up on your cheesy 80's sitcoms.

Hello monday at 10:49 AM

Hello there dear readers,
The past few days have been so exciting and yet so frustrating. We toured the lovely Ivy lane reception center and fell in love. I really don't think we're even going to look at any other places. Now its just about saving and planning and trying to make it all come together. It is super stressful but i am trying not to let the monetary part ruin my excitement for the rest of it.

After we toured the ivy lane we went on a family adventure! We stopped in vintage cupcakes for pink ladies and got a dozen more for my tea party . Next, we went over to the tree house museum for some exhausting family fun. The tree house is so incredible and there is so much to do. We were all tired and ready for a nap before we could visit all the exhibits. After our exhausting run at the tree house hunter fell asleep and the boy and i were ready for some grub. I was craving wings and had a groupon for wing nutz so we headed over. I thought it was a regular restaurant but when i walked in everyone stopped and stared at us and our kid making us feel incredibly awkward so we slowly backed out of there and headed to our favorite spot- Roosters. There is nothing better when you're exhausted than biting into a giant burger and sipping on a cold drink. I love roosters, they are always so nice and the food is fast and good. I am the type of person who will be a loyal customer for life as long as the service is good and the atmosphere is inviting. Ive gone to places with top notch gourmet food that will bring you to your knees but the service was so horrendous i never returned. Roosters has both great food and great service.

After all that walking i was ready for home and as soon as i hit the couch i was gone. luckily it gave me a chance to get plenty of rest because in the morning i realized i had forgotten to go to the store for tea party supplies. Sunday morning was a gloriously beautiful morning and i had no problem motivating myself to hop on my bike and head over to the store. The sky was blue, the air was fresh and it was warm enough to bike without gloves. It was definitely a wind in your hair kind of day. The tea party turned out lovely and ended up being 2 parties in one. The first wave of party goers was mellow and sweet, the second wave brought the ruckus. Its a shame my camera died because everyone was dressed up so cute. I'll definitely have to host another party soon.

The house was clean, i had my Jammies on and i was going to get some writing done only to find my computer crashed....again. My laptop will only stay on for about 10 minutes at a time before just shutting off , and not from overheating. Its beyond broken, this poor computer needs to be taken out back and put out of its misery. Time to start saving up for a new one, hopefully i can get one before this one dies permanently.

CONTEST
Don't forget about the indie Ogden contest- Add an indie Ogden link or banner to your blog or site and if you bring in the most traffic of all the link hosts you will win a box of cupcakes and a musical surprise!

check the calendar on the right side of the blog for events today.

a day of rest? rest is for suckers! at 10:30 AM

Sundays in Utah can be a drag. nothing is open, there doesn't seem like there is anything to do and your bored to tears. don't fret! Ive got some ideas for you.

With Christmas just around the corner there is undoubtedly a few gifts you still need to pick up. Even if you're a super organized early shopper, and you got that shiny 'always prepared for x-mas' merit badge, i bet there is still someone you could get a gift for...yourself perhaps? So, head over to the borrowed earth emporium and check out the winter market. local artisans in attendance every weekend to sell their wares during winter. Buy local! Family activities, yoga, coffee and food too. http://www.borrowedearthemporium.com/calendar/

hungry after a morning of shopping? luckily there are quite a few amazing local eateries near by. whether your craving an amazing burger or salad with a fresh micro brew at roosters, a filling Italian lunch at Rovalis or you just need to have some sweets at vintage cupcakes there is definitely something for you on historic 25Th. While you are strolling around check out the local shops for some great holiday deals, head over to the Christmas village or try out the new trolley. Historic 25Th is my favorite place in Ogden and it's a one stop shop for support your town.

after all that shopping you could be pretty tired but if your not then get dressed up and head out to one of the great bars in Ogden. my personal fave is kamikazes but if your looking for action teazers has NFL Sundays. Teazers is the #1 spot for Football. They have the Sunday Ticket and play every single game. Stop in for great Sunday Brunch, Wing Specials and Beer Specials and football Bingo with great Prizes. Football not your thing? Go ahead, try it out, you just might like it. At the very least you can get a kick out of watching grown men throw tantrums over sports.

So there! now you have no excuse to say your bored on a Sunday. Don't be afraid to go try something new you just might surprise yourself.

Be sure to spread the word about indie Ogden by following this blog, twitter or sharing it with your friends!
