Wednesday-Thrills and chills at 10:55 AM

Yesterday was amazing. The sky was blue, the sun was shining and i barely even needed a jacket. I haven't been on my bike in a few days and was itching to ride So the babe and i bikes into downtown to meet Bryan for a family date. Our go to place in downtown is always Roosters, we never seem like a burden being there and the food is always great.

Today i plan on going to the tree house museum, the best place to exhaust your kids ever. The trick is to play with them but not too much. For instance point out something cool and say' race you there' but pretend run while they bolt. By the end of your trip they are ready for a 3 day nap and you still have enough energy to catch up on your cheesy 80's sitcoms.

Indie Ogden Utah has a new Addition- JulieAnn Carter-Winward. For the next 5 weeks you Will get the pleasure of reading her short story based in Ogden that she wrote especially for Indie Ogden Utah . This series starts today so get excited and go read!

There are a lot of really cool things happening this Glorious overcast Wednesday so dive in folks. Also Don't forget about the Indie Ogden Utah promo video this Friday, RSVP HERE. And be sure to check out my latest article in Sloucher zine HERE.

wednesdasy..it's better than a tuesday! at 10:09 AM

yesterday! oh yesterday how you betrayed me. what started as a beautiful sunny day went sour in an instant. I biked 6 blocks to the grocery store but by the time i got there y wallet was gone. i backtracked a few times hoping i would find it before someone else did but to no avail. i even sent Bryan out to look for it...nothing. I tried to think of all the positives- but really i couldn't find one. As i finally calmed down i noticed that my daughter was being eerily quiet. Any parent of a toddler knows that quiet is NOT good. I peeked into the kitchen and there she was, chopping off her darling curls, a huge pile at her feet. Honestly i didn't have the emotional energy to be upset so i just started laughing hysterically.

OK OK it wasn't the worst day ever. it could have been a lot worse and hay maybe a good Samaritan will return my wallet. Just a few weeks a go a guy dropped his wallet and i returned it to him -with all the cash in it of course. so, doesn't that make me due for a returned wallet? Now here is my question to you readers - IF YOU FOUND A WALLET WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

ahh
well everything is replaceable and i still have my health and friends and it's Wednesday! so here are todays events go on and enjoy em and try not to get blown over, we got winds of 40MPH out there today.

Events, hella clean teeth and bff's at 9:22 AM

Dental visit success! Not a single tear and no Epic meltdows, Hunter is the best. Afterward i anticipated a 'David after the dentist' type of hilarity but trying to understand what a toddler is saying when their mouth ISN'T numb is hard enough. Don't fret my daughter was plenty entertaining for the 2 minutes she was awake and here is what i was able to decipher-

HUNTER-' I WANT JUICE! I CANT CHEW! WHERES MY CUPCAKE! THERE'S A CAT ON THE PORCH!'
ME- 'huh?'
HUNTER- 'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzz'

It's the simple things in life...why didn't i get out the camcorder?

So enough about toddlers at the dentist; i have a serious issue to talk to you about. My sweetie and i have been trying to get married for 5 years, 5 flipping' years! We both refuse to go to a courthouse and just get it over with because we both want our families to be able to come together and celebrate our love for each other. We want the whole shebang - dress and tux, cake and intoxicated loved ones dancing crazily. We know it will happen but every time we seem to save enough something happens and all our savings goes to something terribly un-fun...like surgery. SO i entered us in the Southern Utah bride magazines wedding giveaway! yay! I know our chances of winning the big ticket are about slim to none but a girl can dream and I'd love if you could dream with me so cross yer fingers!

Now let's get on with show! Wednesdays are no joke and there a ton of events to enjoy so limber up with some YOGA and head out to one of these-

WSU’s Center for Diversity & Unity will host a presentation on American Heart Month with WSU wellness coordinator Rachel Smith, 12:30 p.m., Shepherd Union Building Room 232, free, 801-626-7243 or adriennegillespie@weber.edu.

Ogden on the rise at 9:21 AM

My daughter is a brave little girl. Yesterday we had the great pleasure of going to a dental appointment and i had nagging feeling it was not going to go well but i was wrong. Thanks to the dentists and assistants my daughter wasnt scared in the least in fact i think she liked it. Unfortunately we do have to go back and get a couple teeth capped a couple are chipped thanks to her love of running full speed at hard objects and jumping off high places and she may have an enamel deficiency. But soon it'll all be over with and my bean can go on jumping off things without pain...OK maybe with a mouth guard.
Also some exciting news! My first article on Ogden music and arts is now up and running at sloucher magazine. Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think.
Usually Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week but i don't
think I'm going outside today. its freezing and the wind is blowing so hard it knocked my trashcan down the street. I think today is a good day for soup and movies and kinect dance aerobics. But if your brave enough to go out in the cold there are plenty of rad events to enjoy.

I am glad to hear that the dentist appointment went well. How old is your daughter? I am sure I will be at the dentist multiple times for chipped or broken teeth. My almost 2 year old is crazy and jumps off anything and hits everything while running too.

I am loving how you are putting up things that are going on around the area.

It's as cold as Hoth out there. . . at 10:23 AM

This morning i woke up to the shining sun and clear blue sky. I opened my front door to get fresh air only to be awoken by what an only be described as 'winds of death'. The shining sun was deceiving, it is painfully cold outside. Usually on days like this ill crank up the heat, open the blinds a bit, make a smoothie and pretend its summer but i have an errand to run. Not just any errand oh no! I have to take my daughter to THE DENTIST! My daughter has never been to this kind of dentist appointment and i have no idea how she will react. if this was just a regular cleaning, fine but this is a bonafide dental procedure. You see one day as she was wrestling her friend they collided head to mouth and the girl child ran up and proudly showed me her bloody mouth and chipped tooth.   yikes! so sorry about the tooth! my little one (who seems so big when i compare him with yours!) is the collider in question.;) i hope it goes well. i know it can be really hard. we have lots of dental issues and anxiety in our house. rio finally got his teeth fixed (he needed to be under general anesthesia) but now the fillings all seem to be falling out! anyway. good luck! <3, katie
