Thursday: Last nights recap and todays adventures too! at 9:18 AM

Wow was last night AMAZING. I went to the basement to check out "we are the willows" and was blown away. Not only is this feller as polite as daises but he has a unique voice that well, you just have to hear. The best i can do is to say his voice is a cross between a singing coyote and a siren ( the mermaid kind that is). Stay tuned for my full review later today/tonight! In the meantime check out his tour diary and website for tunes. After the show i headed over to the Sand Trap for some Karaoke with my good pal chelsi, her always entertaining hubby and their lovely friend Jordan who's voice is Amazing. It was loads of fun, there was lots of dancing involved and as usual the cheezy fries were finger lickin' good.

Come on folks, there is a lot of amazing stuff happening here in Ogden, ya just have to go. Who knows, you make a new friend. So if you are feeling up for an adventure today come out of the woodwork and head out to one of these:

Hand made in ogden and today's events at 10:34 AM

Did anyone else get to see the movie in the Ogden amphitheater last night? It was fun, and crowded, and loud but mostly fun. The kids ACTUALLY paid attention to the movie ( because it was friggin hilarious!) and at the end they all got up and danced. Have i mentioned lately that i love Ogden? Well, if you haven't gathered that from this blog then ...I LOVE OGDEN!

Today i asked my blogger friend and Ogden local Liv Taylor to do a little guest blog post on finding locally made treasures here in Ogden. Here are her recommendations CHECK IT OUT! You can find her at http://livwrites.com and http://livytay.etsy.com.
***************************************************************************

Last summer I was extremely pregnant, working full-time and basically just too lazy and tired to visit the Farmer's Market. This summer I'm totally hitting it up. It's just one of the many awesome things about Ogden I have yet to experience and feel like I'm missing! It opens on 25th Street July 9 (Saturdays from 8am-1pm), and you'll find all sorts of vendors ranging from fresh, organic produce to artwork and hand-made jewelry. The Market will run through September, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to browse what the local talent has to offer.

Being a bit of a jewelry maker myself, I'm always looking for supplies that are unique and memorable. I find a lot on Etsy, which is another venue for artisans to sell their wares or simply the supplies needed for your own crafts.

One local Ogden-based Etsy seller, Silver fir farms, Prints has vintage or modern styled prints that can even be personalized for your little one.

There are also a lot of shops in Ogden that sell art/jewelry/accessories on consignment. You can find beautiful pieces Borrowed Earth Emporium (2242 Washington Blvd), Upscale Resale (2262 Washington Blvd) and ume Boutique (186 25th Street). If you'd like to take a drive through the 12th Street canyon, you can also find local painters' art at the Grey Cliff Lodge, where you can grab a bite to eat while nestled into the mountain side.

I'm sure there are other great places to find unique supplies, or ready-made items for yourself and home, and that's where you come in. Where have you found awesome, local talent?

*************************************************************************

Back to the daily grind...of AWESOME! at 9:21 PM

Well, the three day weekend is over and its time for us all to go back to the daily grind. Luckily Ogden is super awesome and there is always something fun to do to cheer ya up. I cant say that i got out much this weekend; the first part was spent taking care of my sick daughter and husband and the second part was spent being sick. However, it rained the ENTIRE weekend anyway so i wasn't missing much.

Being sick may not have been so bad because i managed to make quite a few new friends and these friends are super awesome and will be featured on upcoming blog posts and giveaways! As you may have seen on indie Ogden's facebook one of those super awesome friends is a vinyl decal company (http://beepart.com/) that will be doing a giveaway soon. I don't usually host out of town giveaways but this company is fantastic. It is an artist owned and run company that gives other artists a platform for featuring their art in vinyl form! Other friends include local artists and crafters whose work i will be featuring during the Ogden arts festival and you can have a chance to win some of their fantastic work too.

I even had a chance to write 2 new articles on sloucher so check it out! I will be getting the print edition in the mail soon and will try and get some of those out to you guys. Whew! i have had a super busy sick weekend! I should get sick more often. . .

stay tuned for lots of amazing things happening!

Ogden Utah may be the best place ever! at 11:29 AM

I can not even express in words how amazing this weekend was. Kicking off with the Ogden rad mamas meet and greet at Mount Ogden park where some really awesome moms hung out while the kiddos played. I cant wait for the next one (which is later today so join Ogden rad mamas to find out more!) and neither can my daughter. Saturday we went on a family bike adventure on the Ogden river parkway stopping at parks along the way. we got some tacos at one of the stands downtown ( they are all so good!) and then hit liberty park for one last play session before heading home for ice cream and rest. It really felt like summer and i can not wait for next weekend. This week there are a lot of exciting things happening but you'll have to keep checking back for whats in store! For lots of photos from my fun in Ogden Utah visit https://www.facebook.com/indieogden

Have you heard of the Ogden city oylers? The oylers are only the coolest softball team here in Ogden..ever!It all started when Timmy rawk was told the team he wanted to join was already filled with "talented" players, boy can i identify with that! Timmy set out to form his own team of people who just weren't making the cut but were equally as awesome. The oylers just wanted to play softball and have a good time and so they banded together to form their own team of friends. The Ogden city Oylers are having a competition on their facebook page to win a pair of Ear Pollution headphones (retailing for 50 bucks!). The contest will go all week and it goes like this: the person who can get the most friends to like our page will win the headphones. Easy enough! so enter today! They also have some really rad shirts for sale too so head out on Tuesdays and catch a game at the Weber county fairgrounds!

Today's events
