 Monday: zucchini, movies in the park and hops at 9:01 AM
Today is Monday and i am feeling pretty positive. I have been having a tough time finding a job so i have decided to take charge and do something about it. When the going gets tough, the tough get creative. I am excited about all the things i now feel capable of doing and hopefully this will turn everything around. WooHoo for believing in myself! Yesturday i biked the river parkway until we found a nice play spot and then jumped in the river. I am so glad the river is finally low enough to wade in, it was cold as hoth but well worth the dip. I want to encourage everyone to hop on their bike and check out the river parkway, it is so amazing right now. But be safe, the river is still unpredictable. In other news i have officially decided to give myself a little break from indie Ogden. Working 6 hours a day on a blog 6 days a week (last month i finally gave myself Sundays off) while being a stay at home mom is a bit draining. Don't worry, this blog isn't going anywhere but it IS getting BIGGER! I launched a search and found 4 amazing people to join the indie Ogden team and i am excited to meet with them and see what happens. I am one step closer to achieving my goal of making Indie Ogden into a local magazine! I have a vision and i have the drive ( thanks to coffee) and i am determined to make this happen. I want to give a hearty thank you to everyone who encouraged me to keep going, all the local businesses who have supported me and to Ogden for being so awesome. Oh! one last thing! Ogden Utah has its very own Indie film theater!!! Go check out Art house 502 and see a rad movie! no longer will you have to travel to slc, support local. And here are your days events! All day

Wild West Weekend in Ogden Utah at 2:21 PM I am so excited for this weekend! there are so many fun events happening to celebrate Ogden pioneer days and i can not wait to enjoy them all. According to the pioneer days website "Ogden Pioneer Days was first celebrated in the summer of 1934 after the charismatic Ogden City Mayor Harman W. Peery organized a western festival to boost the spirits of the locals and entice tourists to visit the city." There is everything from a wild west shoot out to rodeos and baseball games, i hear there is even a beard growing contest. So get out there and enjoy a hearty Ogden tradition! Saturday in Ogden Utah at 10:42 AM This weekend is going to be great! today is sunny and beautiful and there are a lot of amazing local events happening. I will be attending a wedding for my lovely friends and am oh so excited! I've only been to one wedding before as a bridesmaid in my little sisters wedding. I cried like child who lost their binkie but it was a beautiful ceremony and my father officiated it making it even More special. I Love wedding and am excited to celebrate with such amazing people. If you don't know, my fiend Candice ( the bride) is an amazing belly dancer and henna artist and she regularly frequents mojos and the Athenian to practice her art. She is also one of the leading ladies in my group the Ogden rad mamas and she has an amazing green thumb. She is so dang crafty that she is even doing a DIY wedding! This lady has it all so lets all wish her a happy wedding and hope it doesn't rain! Today's events: All day-Ogden marathon: The GOAL Foundation is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Ogden Marathon, Utah's Spring Run-Off, sponsored by ZIONS Bank. The Ogden Marathon features an awe-inspiring course, tremendous community enthusiasm, unsurpassed volunteer support and enjoyable pre- and post-race activities. 2pm Library movie: Bambi-This film is part of the Cinema Saturdays series at the Main Library. 2pm Gallery theater prsents: The Gallery Theater at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden will present an original play "Bad Show at Boffington Hall" a melodrama by Paul Birkbeckon. She mixes Beatle-ina pop with the acoustic grit of Led Zeppelin with harmonies and old folk rhythms played rock and roll style. Ché's work as a songwriter, alone and with writing partner Tisa Adamson, has received accolades in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the Billboard Songwriting Contest. She has also placed several songs in feature films, including “Critters,” “The Invisible Kid,” & “Gypsy 83.” This part time fashion model and multi-instrumentalist is working on her 7th release on Youghiogheny River Records about the Pennsylvania area she is from. wednesday in ogden:karaoke, metal and picnics in the rain at 10:35 AM Today's blog post is going to be short and sweet as i am about to head out on an adventure with the lovely RayDo show (of to orchard lane blog) to do part 1 of a lovely photo shoot on the best picnic spots in Ogden. Yes in the rain, remember i moved here from Portland! It should be a fun and hopefully turn out beautiful! So in the interest of saving time here are today's events! wild Wednesdays at the nature centerWhat can dive at over 200 miles per hour? What has a beak that acts like a can opener? Falcons! Spend time with Jetta our American Kestrel. Learn what separates falcons from other types of birds. Then take a short hike with a naturalist to look for signs of falcons at the Nature Center. Meet in the Visitor's Center.  wildflower hike We’ll hike for about 3 hours with frequent stops to look at/look up wild flowers. Hikes will be at various locations in and around Ogden Valley. Bring flower guide book if you have one. Outings are weekly on Wednesday’s at 9:am from May 18 - June 15. Best Weekend ever...EVER! at 9:51 AMLast night i Went to the Ogden Tweetup at Rooster. Tweetups are in person meet and greets with your local twitter users. You get to meet the people behind the avatars and network with people you may not have socialized with otherwise. It was pretty fun and there is talk of another one soon.
