wednesday in ogden:karaoke, metal and picnics in the rain at 10:35 AM![]() Today's blog post is going to be short and sweet as i am about to head out on an adventure with the lovely RayDo show (of to orchard lane blog) to do part 1 of a lovely photo shoot on the best picnic spots in Ogden. Yes in the rain, remember i moved here from Portland! It should be a fun and hopefully turn out beautiful! So in the interest of saving time here are today's events! wild Wednesdays at the nature centerWhat can dive at over 200 miles per hour? What has a beak that acts like a can opener? Falcons! Spend time with Jetta our American Kestrel. Learn what separates falcons from other types of birds. Then take a short hike with a naturalist to look for signs of falcons at the Nature Center. Meet in the Visitor's Center. ![]() wildflower hike We’ll hike for about 3 hours with frequent stops to look at/look up wild flowers. Hikes will be at various locations in and around Ogden Valley. Bring flower guide book if you have one. Outings are weekly on Wednesday’s at 9:am from May 18 - June 15. Call Helene for specific trail-head and more info- 801-745-1799 Independent film society: Join the film artist of Ogden once again at Cafe Mergot. (formally called 'uncommon grounds')for some down right serious fun. It doesn't matter if your an experienced player or new to the game. you are all welcome to hang out and mess around with other film interested folks. The Basement presents: Local Metal Showcase Featuring performances by:Breaux, Loom,Kalima, Mauler, Die Nasty. Doors open at 6:30PM, music starts at 7:00PM.Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door. A busy Friday in Ogden at 10:42 AMits Friday and there's a whole lot happening in Ogden tonight. whether you want to have a relaxing night strolling around checking out local art or you want pound a few and have your ears blown off there is something for you tonight. Listen to the street musicians and tour the various galleries to enjoy the fine art produced here in Ogden and surrounding area. Galleries remain open later for this special evening.
