I hope you all have been enjoying the new indie Ogden team's posts! It is definitely nice to have a little less to do in my busy schedule and let other talented Ogdenites do their thing. There has been so much happening in my world and i am so darn giddy about it all. I feel super blessed to have a crew of awesome folks around me, amazing opportunities popping up all around and of course it is amazing to see indie Ogden grow and grow and grow. undoubtedly none of this would be possible without you dear readers so give yourselves a little round of applause! ITS SUMMER! Wednesday 6/8 in OGDEN! at 10:52 AM I am pretty sure it is finally safe to say it is summer. right? right? well, it better be! I just finished spending 5 hours ( ye s 5 hours!!) scouring the web for events and updating indie Ogden's calendar. I found a lot of hidden events that i have no idea where happening so there no excuse to say you are bored this summer. seriously, Ogden rocks. Today is Wednesday the day of the week that explodes events. I will be keeping VERY busy today doing a photo shoot of the very best picnic spots in Ogden with the lovely Raychel from . Later i will be heading over to the Pre-vintage prom pinup party at vintage cupcakes and the psy-chi open house at borrowed earth. whew! There is a lot happening today so take yer pick! WSU events: WSU football will host the Mac’s Kids Camp for students age 7 through grade 8, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Weber State football practice field, $100 (includes lunch), 801-626-7063. Friday in Ogden: marathon, metal and lots and lots of food. at 12:23 PM This Friday is going to be awesome! Not only are there a ton of events but lots of restaurants are having specials thanks to the marathon. Today i will have 2 blog posts ( one for today and one for the weekend) because there is so much going on this weekend i just cant fit it all into one, so stay tuned for Saturday and Sundays events too! Also it's bike to work day in ogden! Did you bike to work or take advantage of he free pancake breakfast for cyclists? i want to hear about it! If you didn't catch the news on Indie Ogden's facebook page then here it is: i am happy to say i am on the advisory board for the Ogden Local Music Awareness Coalition that was just unveiled TONIGHT! i am not on any one's team, i am here to help the music scene as a whole for the benefit of all. I want to see Ogden thrive and flourish to it's full potential and i believe this is one of the ways we can achieve that! I love all the venues,bands and supporters of Ogden's music scene and i know if we all work together we can create something amazing. Each venue is so unique in Ogden, with different walks of life, musical genres and scenes. If we work together to help each other then Ogden CAN and WILL have an amazing BOOMING and SUCCESSFUL music scene. Lets put our differences aside and wok together! The Zions Bank Ogden Marathon runners, their fans, and the Ogden Community will be kicking off the marathon weekend with the Fun & Fitness Expo located at the Historic Union Station on 25th Street and Wall Avenue.In addition to the runner registration the GOAL Foundation has planned a great festival with vendors, give-aways, music and food as well as some fantastic running gear retail sales. Bring your entire family to enjoy the festival as well as the history of the grand old depot, built in 1924. The depot houses museums and galleries featuring railroad history, firearms, gems and minerals, classic cars and the arts. The Union Station is also the home of a restaurant and model train shop.
