Thursday needs to step up its game. Wednesdays take over the week with their jam packed schedule and the next day Thursday just throws up its hands and gives up. come on! well at least there is one amazing, exciting, blow your mind fun event happening to make up for it.

Thursday night around 6 head over to the Athenian for some beautiful belly dancing by the local Ogden troupe The Tiger Lily's.The Tiger Lily's have been dancing together for 2 years and got their start when one of the members took a belly dancing class and encouraged the others to dance with her. Soon they formed the troupe and had their first performance at belly break coffla at the borrowed earth emporium. The Athenian has become their regular venue where you can often find them dancing for delighted patrons. Keep and ear out for their big performance this July at the Ogden amphitheater!

Voice Male is performing at the Val A. Browning Center for the Performing Arts and if you love choirs you'll love this. Voice Male is made up of six very different individuals. John Luthy masterminded the Voice Male concept while singing with some of the guys in the Logan LDS Institute Choir. Over the years, they expanded their reach further and further, traveling to several states and to Mexico, performing over 120 songs for thousands of fans. When they are not working or singing, they are enjoying time with their supportive wives and children. The latest tally: 19 children who like to call each other Voice Male Cousins. Who knows what is in store for the future of Voice Male. It doesn't really matter, because the past has been pretty great.

For more holiday cheer check out the holiday house concert featuring Marvin Payne at a story book manor. Marvin Payne is an actor, writer, song maker, and recording artist living in Alpine, Utah. He has released a dozen albums of original songs and has helped craft a half dozen widely produced plays. he has acted professionally in about fifty films and fifty plays and over a hundred audio adventures for kids.

Need a good laugh? Head over for Scott Bennett 'The AMBASSADOR of LOVE" at Wiseguys Comedy Club . Scott started doing open mics in Las Vegas in 1996. When he moved back to Utah in 1997 because of a divorce he was lucky enough to hook up with a club called Laughs which is now Wiseguys where they gave him a lot of stage time. Before he knew it, he was working on the road as a feature and three years later as a headliner. Scott is a regular at the Improv in Hollywood, and plays the Loony Bins, Funny Bones, Wiseguys, etc. Scott's also done a few TV commercials and bit parts in movies. Scott was the Winner of the Rocky Mountain Laugh Off and has appeared on Blind Date and 'E's Talk Soup.

End the work week with a band at kamikazes and see shaky trade perform. Shaky Trade was formed in Ogden, UT in 2004 by childhood friends Billy Bommer (saxes, vocals), Greg Shaw (bass), and Simon Crompton (guitar). Picking up their respective instruments in high school, the three played in and around the Utah scene with several local groups. After witnessing a Weber State University Jazz Ensemble performance, the trio approached members Chris Clemons (brass, vocals) and Michael Wong (drums), and the newly formed quintet began rehearsals in the back room of a local tile shop. The five were able to find common ground and inspiration in groups as disparate as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, and Jurassic 5, and a potent sound began to take shape. Consisting of fresh horn licks, a rock solid rhythm section, and tasty melodies, the group quickly established a fiercely loyal fanbase

Saturdays are... at 2:06 PM

Saturdays are my favorite day. You can sleep in until noon, party until dawn and wake up late the next day without a single care..well, in theory that is. Regardless Saturdays are meant to be taken advantage of. It's a day when you can risk being tired the next day and it's OK. So, don't let this Saturday slip you by! Get out of your Jammies, grab a coffee and get out there. There's a lot to do this Saturday so set an alarm and seize the day!

Kick off the morning with a healthy dose of stretching. The borrowed earth emporium offers free yoga for beginners on Saturdays At 9 am . Bring a mat and wear comfy clothes and open your mind to what yoga has to offer. A great way to see if yoga is right for you. Afterward stick around for the winter market. local artisans in attendance every weekend to sell their wares during winter. buy local! family activities, yoga, coffee and food.

Now that your all relaxed and your mind is clear head over to the Ogden nature center and enjoy holiday shopping, free gift wrapping, a kids craft, live entertainment, a bake sale, auction and more. For sale will be fresh evergreen swags and centerpieces, chunky wool coat pins, handmade mittens, bird feeders, nature related books, art, toys, jewelry and casual clothing. Many items are locally hand-crafted and beautiful!
All proceeds benefit the Ogden Nature Center's mission to unite people with nature and nurture appreciation and stewardship of the environment. FREE admission.

need a bit more coffee and a little entertainment? Well good, because grounds for coffee on 25th is hosting an open mic starting at 4. Sing a song, read some poetry, show off our moves or just sit back and watch.

Now that your nice and caffeinated head over to the basement for INDIE FEST! The Basement proudly presents Indie Fest 2.0 - Jason's Revenge. Featuring: Jason Allen is a jerk, Sweatband, The Darlin' Broads, The Lionelle, WeDroplikeBombs, Hello Panda, Mermaid Baby, A Sometimes Army, and others. Doors open at 5:30PM, music starts at 6:00PM. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door. All Ages

Ah! But don't go home yet! lets not forget about the amazing fashion benefit show for the make a wish foundation. Borrowed earth emporium is hosting this incredible event. It's going to be a night of fun, music, food and fashion from Slavy ‎will show the latest trends, casual, as well as "girls night out" names like, Glam, VO, CLuce, Shulami. Little Cherry Blossom and Tookiloo too.
Admission is $5 and 90 % of proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.

Well, there it is folks, a jam packed Saturday. You got to do a little yoga, got some holiday shopping in, a bit of rockin' out and you supported a good cause. Could you be anymore awesome? A busy Friday in Ogden at 10:42 AM

its Friday and there's a whole lot happening in Ogden tonight. whether you want to have a relaxing night strolling around checking out local art or you want pound a few and have your ears blown off there is something for you tonight.

At 6pm just when you get off work and your ready to get into weekend mode the historic 25Th street first Friday art stroll kicks off with local art, music and food. Listen to the street musicians and tour the various galleries to enjoy the fine art produced here in Ogden and surrounding area. Galleries remain open later for this special evening. Galleries include: Ogden Arts , Fine Arts Gallery, Gallery 25, Cara Koolmees, Ogden Blue, Artists & Heirlooms, Grounds for Coffee, Gallery at the Union Station & Myra Powell Gallery, Eccles Community Art Center and more.

OK so you've checked out art and got over your fear of crowds and now your ready to party! hop on over to teasers for the CJB Ogden CD Release Party! The CJB is an energetic, addicting, and always fun Reggae Rock outfit from the greater Salt Lake City area of Utah. Their success so far has been attributed to their hard work and dedication to providing quality music to a young exciting crowd! The following depicts some of the Grass Roots Accomplishments made by the band. A solo album by Codi Jordan entitled “Vacation” completed in Nov. 2008, and received rave reviews from fans and industry professionals alike. From the album came The CJB, which has now become a performing force in the Intermountain west and beyond.

Last but certainly not least a knock out show at kamikazes that's sure to help you forget the stresses of your work week and add some cool into your life. sparks fire, Blindedxtruth and us thieves wail on their instruments and pierce through the night At kamikazes. grab a beer and grab a stranger and dance or just sit on the comfy couches in the loft and enjoy the music. after all, you deserve it

Hi there! I too am a transplant from the Great Northwest (Seattle). I've lived here for several years (also because of my husband.) I struggle to find stuff to do here and I really miss home. Thanks for starting this up! :)
