I too am a transplant from the Great Northwest (Seattle). I've lived here for several years (also because of my husband.) I struggle to find stuff to do here and I really miss home. Jason Allen, former frontman of "so euphoric", decided after a 4 year hiatus, to return to the local music scene by forming a band with his wife and his good friends: the founding members of Ogden's own Fire Underwater. Jason Allen is a jerk. was officially started on November 15, 2009. check them out at http://www.myspace.com/jasonallenisajerk the lionelle- Channeling compelling and confusing emotions into words and song is one of the toughest challenges (and most noticeably missing) in today’s music. The Lionelle’s ‘Shipwreck’ wastes no time of cutting through the core of these emotions while putting dark and angular rock behind it. They rock hard and scream when they’re frustrated and torn, yet they pull back to a lounge beat with swelling guitars and crooning vocals when they have calmed themselves down and accepted what their feelings consist of. http://www.myspace.com/thelionelle#more mermaid baby- The time was 1942, the depression was over and the country was more alive then ever. The only thing the people of America had to worry about was the fear of a catastrophic incident tearing our world apart. From a salty inland lake in the west rose a powerful force called Mermaid Baby. They showed people reassurance in their music, and made them believe that with our country hand in hand, anything is possible. http://www.myspace.com/mermaidbabymusic#more the sometimes army- Around the time Taylor started writing music was about the same moment as time kept on passing by with out any sort of change. It was the same time as nothing important or of any significance happened. But soon Alex joined the band! soon after that, time continued to still pass by without any sort of giant reaction... actually not even any reaction in the slightest. We went under the title of "Was There Ever An Alex Or Taylor?" for a little bit, but periodically other band members joined and we became the band we are today. To this day we have never played a show with every single band member... hence the name "A Sometimes Army" but do not fret! Time still continues to pass by without noticing us. http://www.myspace.com/asometimesarmy The Darlin’ Broads- brought down from on high with the fire of the gods- http://www.myspace.com/darlinbroads sweatband- http://www.myspace.com/sweatbandsherwood Be sure to spread the word about indie Ogden by following this blog, twitter or sharing it with your Labels: basement, indie, ogden, punk, rock, screamo, show, surf, utah xoxo, explore, create and have fun ‹Older |
