The Weekend Show on 88.1 Weber FM at 11:24 AM

Last Saturday was one of my favorite Saturdays ever. I was given the opportunity to make a guest appearance on 'The Weekend Show' to talk about Indie Ogden. I was so nervous since i had never actually even been in a radio station, I've only passed by one...once. All of the equipment and giant window that people can look in is a bit nerve wracking but the guys at the Weekend show really made it easy. After only a few minutes i felt like one of the gang and it felt good to be able to go on the radio and chat about indie Ogden and all the great events happening in this awesome town.
The Weekend Show is one one of KWCR's completely student-run radio station operated out of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. The Weekend guys- Jared, DJ AJ, and Hogie Bear- are hilarious and they love to support local. About 90% of the music that is played on the Weekend show is from local bands and they are always looking for more more talent. If you have a band send your music their way and it may get played on the air. If you don't have a radio don't fret because in this day of technology you can see (yay webcams) and hear The Weekend Show online at weberfm.org, just click listen live. I you didn't catch me on this weekends show (dancing with chewbacca and developing a fear of rattlesnakes) don't panic, i may be back on air soon! Until then head over to the weekend show on FACEBOOK and be sure to 'like' them and check them out every Saturday NOON-2PM on 88.1FM (Weber County, UT) or streaming live at weberfm.org.See more pics on INDIE OGDEN'S FACEBOOK

Tuesday in ogden, utah at 11:19 AM

I hope you all got out yesterday and enjoyed the last decent park day until the spring rains come back. I biked my tot around to the tree house museum and then up to liberty park where i got to break up a fight between two 7 year olds, school a mom on playground etiquette , and yell at some 5th graders who were screaming incredibly lewd things. Our park adventure was anything but relaxing, what happened to wholesome child's play? I still managed to lure hunter away from the tainted park and over to a grassy field by my house where we played with bubbles and giggled wildly. I'm going to miss these toddler years when she is all grown up.

If anyone was at the Atilla and bullet for pretty boy show id love to get a review! And that goes for any everyone, if you go to an event and love it, write about it and submit it to indie Ogden!

sprinter at 11:05 AM

Today is the perfect example of the transition from winter to spring, sprinter if you will. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and there is a thin layer of snow on the ground. It's not too cold, not too warm and nothing has bloomed quite yet here in Ogden, Utah. Spring is on the cusp, i can feel it in my bones and my skin aches for months of sunshine. Yesterday i got some lovely news. i was awarded a blog award by the lovely Trissta at "living on the chic" blog. Her blog is all about living chic on the cheap. i know we can all relate to that! she gives herself a monthly budget and then blogs about how she makes its all happen . So my picks for blog awards are these 5 incredible blogs:
Delightfully Tacky- when i need style inspiration this is where i go. She had diy tutorials, beautifully creative outfits and amazing hair! From her blog i learned how to make a faux bois fridge, that blowfish shoes is amazing and that mixing prints is a good thing. check out her blog i just know you'll love it.
The beehive blog: life with the queen- This lady is a local Utah blogger and she is very much in the know. check out this blog to learn about all the good things in Utah and to find out about all the cool people too. if there is a queen bee in Utah this lady certainly is it.
Little chief honeybee- This blogger has the best giveaways and the best hair! She is incredible creative with her wardrobe and has a super cute STORE. Check out her blog for fantastic prizes and colorful inspiration.
Poor girl eats well- As a mama on a budget with a love of gourmet blogs like these keep my dinners fresh. Poor girl on a budget teaches you how to eat like a rock star on a roadies budget. Try one of her many creative dinners and be amazed at how well you can eat with so little.
Single dad laughing- In a world of mommy bloggers a dad blog is a breath of fresh air. Single dad laughing has it all humor, the cute factor and inspirational posts. It isn't east being a single parent but single dad laughing does it with grace. I have been addicted to this salt lake city blog for a while and i just know you will be too.

Today is usually a day of relaxation but in celebration of this beautiful day here are a few things you can do

I really enjoyed this post. You write about this topic very well. There are many cherished moments in life, why not wear a beautiful dress! When looking back on special memories of your child wearing a gorgeous dress, it will make a fond memory.

saturday- where did spring go? at 10:13 AM

Saying that i was disappointed when i woke up this morning to find that the blue skies were gone is an understatement. But its no surprise that spring is known for its erratic weather and in no time we will all be trying to escape the heat of summer. oh summer you just cant come fast enough. To get your mind of the gloom and doom of today and the knowledge of the snow storm coming tomorrow head out to one of tonight's rad shows.

MOJOS rocks Saturdays- MILAGRE of Brooklyn, NY will be performing in Ogden live@mojos. Milagre is signed by Kill Rock Stars. Local bands are OLD WORLD (formerly Matt Ben Jackson) will be offering their newly pressed CD, Descriptive, Marny Proudfit, Kat Day and more... This will be an amazing show. 7pm/7bux.

Brewskis Saturday showcase- mullet hatchet- all southern rock all the time just check out their promo video HERE

Acoustic Saturdays at the bee with brett turner- The music of Brett Turner has something most musicians only dream of. With guitar riffs that rival Tom Petty, lyrical storytelling reminiscent Sheryl Crow and Bob Dylan, and the ability to portray the rock and roll spirit of Mr. Johnny Cash himself, this talented one-man band is inventing his own genre. While touring the country promoting his debut studio album 'All Across America' Brett's infectious tunes have spread to fans young and old. As he continues to grow as a singer, songwriter, and performer, his style and stage presence have become unmatchable and all his own. 'All Across America' boasts ads on Spike TV and MTV2 and has been highly praised for its originality, and its ability to warrant the question, which song is my favorite?

Wine cellar's 7th anniversary with shaky trade-Returning for a second appearance....this band gives you all that, and then some! And, if ya missed 'em at the Mardi Gras Pirate Party...then here's another chance! Don't let the "Good Times" miss ya (again)!! They gonna fill you up....with they "funky" stuff!Cover: $5
