I hope you all have been enjoying the new indie Ogden team's posts! It is definitely nice to have a little less to do in my busy schedule and let other talented Ogdenites do their thing. There has been so much happening in my world and i am so darn giddy about it all. I feel super blessed to have a crew of awesome folks around me, amazing opportunities popping up all around and of course it is amazing to see indie Ogden grow and grow and grow. undoubtedly none of this would be possible without you dear readers so give yourselves a little round of applause! Thursday: dance parties, open mic and a good cause at 10:02 AM Yesterday sure was a busy day! I got to meet some rad locals at the Ogden Tweetup and eat 2 for 1 tacos. Afterwards i stopped by trudy's poppin' johnny's for some of their amazing ice cream. Later i joined a cooking class on google+ hangout with a chef on the east coast and made an amazing meal for my family and the rad little one i was babysitting. Finally i got to head out and hang out with my ladies, make some new friends and sing embarrassingly out of tune. Yeah, it was a good day. Since today is Thursday i would love if everyone would check out the Ogden Outdoor adventure show. you can tune into 88.1 FM , listen online or tune into their podcast. Tuesday! Dancing, nature and heavy metal at 11:06 PM Oh man do i have to wake up early on Tuesday. Today's post comes a bit early so i can get to bed and HOPEFULLY be able to wake up in enough time to get the girl child and myself ready to bike downtown for a meeting at 8am. Now I know 8am may not seem early to some of you morning folk out there but for me 8am is the equivalent to torture. But, if i am going to return to the working world soon i have to reprogram myself to getting up a bit earlier. Oh how i will miss my extra couple hours of sleep, but perhaps waking the child this early will persuade her to go to bed at a decent hour for once. Yesterday i did get to see the horse and hitch parade which was quite fun except for one part, there wasn't nearly enough candy. My poor tot was not able to beat any of the bigger kids to any candy and i could see her spirits dwindling with each miss. Of course i always keep a secret stash so i was able to give her a bit when we got home but...still. Also , whoever was handing out energy shots, just don't. A few kids got a hold of them before there parents and i just KNOW there were some angry parents about 45 minutes later. Otherwise the event was a hit and the horses were absolutely beautiful. i especially loved the one with spots and the itty bitty pony pulling a wagon. Well, enjoy the days events folks! Thursday: karaoke. open mic and schmoozing at 9:17 AM Yesterday was awesome. I went in a picnic at municipal park and watched Dan Weldon sing some songs, i got all my errands done by bike ( is there any other way when its sunny out?) , i ate guava Popsicles in my yard and i ended the night at the sand trap singing karaoke with friends. yeah, summer pwns winter. This week is turning out to be quite amazing and i am excited for all the things coming up. Tonight there is a ton going on Tomorrow is the fire in the skies CD release party and lots of other rad events and Saturday i am going on the weekend show again and you will be kept plenty busy with all of the shows and events happening that weekend. Oh whats that?? You've never heard the weekend show? well, i most certainly WILL tell you about it. The weekend show is a Weber FM radio delight. Featuring local music and some lesser known rad jams the weekend show will have you laughing and dancing in no time. Hosted by Jared Christensen, hoagie bear, DJ AJ and tons of fun local guests too. If you love to hear new music and you want to know about local artists you simply must tune into 88.1 Weber FM Saturdays from noon-2!
