Friday! The fair, ballet and lots of running. at 5:56 PM
Well my first day of work was a success, i didn't keel over or bawl my eyes out because i missed my babe. It was actually kinda fun and pretty entertaining but it was still work and i have the blisters on my fingers to prove it. I am pretty excited i will be getting a discount on Halloween costumes but not excited that i am officially no longer a stay at home mama...le sigh. No more bike adventures, long days lounging in the park, endless picnics and tea parties. Gone are the days of pippi longstockings cleaning parties and mid day dance parties. I will miss those (almost 4) precious years of fun but alas, all good things must come to an end. ::queue sappy slow motion flashback now:: I think i did a pretty good job at stay at home momdom , 4 out of 5 stars at least ( i did let her eat ice cream for breakfast a few times) . I had a good run and now its time for something new. I am excited about bringing on the new writes for indie Ogden too, now that i am working i will need some extra help. Thursday: Karaoke, single mingles and mayoral debates at 8:39 PM
Yesterday was so awesome! Tour of Utah was a thrill to watch, much more so than i thought. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her cowbells and made a racket until she fell asleep at night to prove it. The health expo they had was also a blast and there were so many fun free samples (wayfarer sunglasses, stickers, lip gloss, food!!) that i felt like i was some sort of celebrity. The girl child loved the bounce houses , face painting and really neat balloon sculptures with candy inside! Some of the Ogden rad Parents and i met at Mojos to finalize all the exciting details of the Ogden rock n romp!! It is coming up soon so be sure and check out the rock n romp page on facebook to keep updated. It is going to be very awesome and i can not wait for all the fun to start. Also today is my first day at my new job! I am excited to be getting OUT of the house for work but also a little bummed i am not getting my teeth out yet. No worries though, soon enough i will be on a liquid diet and watching soaps while mildly delusional from laughing gas. Have a great day folks! Wish me luck! I heart wednesday! at 9:41 PM
I hope you all enjoyed yesterdays amazing guest post on how to survive the zombie invasion in Ogden Utah. Keep an eye out because this is an ongoing series and next issue will start to cover some in depth tips to help YOU survive. If you are a friend of mine you have probably heard me squeal with joy at my recent good luck. I not only found a job but i have an interview for another one too. I may just have 2 rad jobs after searching for so long! Determination and a bit of creativity paid off and i can now let out a big old sigh of relief that i am done with my search and i can get back to work. On the downside, i start Thursday which means no wisdom tooth removal for me yet, it is once again pushed back BUT now i can afford to go under! Yay! So i am holding onto my tooth money for dear life and waiting until i have a day off to go yank these babies out! In other news i am SO SO glad i started writing these posts the night before because Wednesday is jam packed full of meeting and happening and schmoozing and snacks. I will be out and about getting stuff done like a champ while toting around one rambunctious curly haired girl child on my bike. Yeah, life is feeling pretty darn good right now...but I'll still need that coffee. Have fun this Wednesday folks and soak up all that awesome because in a blink of an eye summer will be over. Yup you heard it, only 2 more weeks until school starts. Don't worry, i will still be here to guide you through the back to school blues with tons of fun things to do after your classes. And if your like me and you don't go to school then heck, summer can last all year long....Kinda. **********TODAY'S EVENTS**********

Karaoke in Ogden by Jeff Dillon at 12:26 AM![]() Have you ever been to one of those crazy bar places, and wondered why it was that you were suffering from such an acute, and sudden headache, and there was an odd rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” going on in the background, obviously the cause of said headache? That's right...It must be karaoke night. Karaoke, (as some say, it is Japanese for “bad singing”) seems to be growing in popularity among the local bar scene, as of late, and at the forefront of the Karaoke DJ's out there is Jackson, the Karaoke Dude. Jackson has been in the karaoke business since 1984, and been doing so throughout the Midwestern United States. Having won several awards for KJ of the year from several publications over the years, he is certainly no stranger to the business. He is the only licensed, 100% legally certified KJ in the state of Utah, and boasts one of the largest song collections in the entire United States, and we get him HERE in Ogden,UT! Jackson runs such an entertaining show, and has such a wonderful fan and friend base that follow him from venue to venue, that you can always count on finding a familiar face, and a good friend to sing with, no matter where you go. While there are several places in the city of Ogden that run karaoke, it is usually at Jackson's shows that you find a fair rotation, a good service, and just about any song you could hope for. He plays every night of the week, except for Mondays, and spends Wednesday - Saturday in the Ogden area. Wednesday he is at The Sandtrap 9pm - 1am, Thursday you can find him at Teazers 9pm - 1am, Friday you will find him at the new Lighthouse Lounge 9pm - 1am and Saturday he can be found rocking at the Roy Eagles FOE 8:30pm - 1am While some of these places, as well as others have their karaoke jam on more than one night per week, you can always count on Jackson to show you a great time. So...Lace those sneakers up, get your headbands on, come have a drink, and sing a song with Jackson. Tell him Sookie sent you. Hell, maybe we can all sing Bohemian Rhapsody together. :) Catch Jackson the Karaoke dude at one of these Venues: SUNDAY - THE SUMMIT LOUNGE 9:00PM - 1:00AM 918 Heritage Park Blvd. Layton, Ut.
