Gardening, karaoke and giveaways in ogden utah at 10:12 AM

Now that is is summer every single day has so many events i can hardly fit them all in a post! I love how active Ogden it, even in the winter i was kept pretty busy. Today the sun is shining and the Ogden rad mamas are heading over to the sunflower garden to plant some things! It is so very exciting! There are still a few plots available so come on down and garden with us at the sunflower community garden behind grounds for coffee on Harrison!

WSU events:
“Arts in the Parks Summer Tour 2011,” a week long arts program for children, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Liberty Park (751 W. 24th St., Ogden), free, 801-626-6782 or artspark@weber.edu.
“Science in the Parks,” a week long science program for children, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Lorin Farr Park (769 Canyon Rd., Ogden), free, 801-626-7711 or ottreach@weber.edu.

Big fix mobile clinic:
FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED. Arrive early, intake is at 8am. FREE CAT & DOG Spay&Neuter for Ogden City Residents at the Big Fix (bring proof of residency).

X-treme Eco expedition:
Week-long adventure camp for 11 to 13 year olds. 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Wednesday (after hours care available until 5 PM) at the nature center. Do you thin you have what it takes to survive in the wild? Challenge yourself in the ultimate nature adventure. Learn how to read nature and prepare yourself for survival

Kids act up performing arts camp:
Kids Act UP is a summer theater camp for students age 7 - 14 at the historic Peery's Egyptian Theater. Participants learn about "the business" - singing, acting, dancing - while rehearsing for a live performance for family and friends.

Visual arts camp:
Anyone ages 6 through adult may explore multimedia with artist, Lisa Quagliozzi at a Multimedia camp offered at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on June 14, 15 & 15, 2011 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will experience drawing, painting, collage, printmaking and more.

Grassroots out door alliance Presents:
A Dramatic Multimedia Presentation and Fundraiser for Jeff Lowe's Metanoia, the Extraordinary Documentary Film on the Life & Climbs of Jeff Lowe, now in production.Jeff Lowe's Metanoia explores extraordinary alpine accomplishments, from mountain top to wheelchair. Held at
Peery's Egyptian Theater!

Brewskis:
every Tuesday at brewskis unleash your inner metal head and rock out to heavy metal karaoke!

Best day ever: scones, dancing and a fashion show! at 12:19 PM

Oh...my ...WORD! Yesterday was definitely in my top 5 favorite days of all time. Hunter and i spend the morning in the park then headed home to bake some scones. She helped me get ready for the fashion show ( and by help i mean made it take twice as long) and we dressed up and danced around the house. She was wearing my shoes and sang a song about dinosaurs to me. here is proof of this awesome occasion:

Later after i was satisfied in the amount of eyeliner i was wearing i biked down to universe city gallery to help out before the Fashion show and get my hair done. The stylist (caitlin allred: facebook.com/caitlin.allred) did and amazing Job and every ones hair was super retro and cool. All of the outfits were retro inspired and really fabulous. The crowd was amazing and the band was perfect for the occasion. "Afterwards people were buying clothes right off the hangers in the changing area! Over all the night was a success and Nurture the creative mind and chuks vintage did an amazing job! Ill be posting more photos once people send them in and you can check them out on indie Ogden's facebook. Until them here are a few teasers :

Science arts & crafts:
Children ages 6 to 9 years old can participate in a Science and Art Workshop: Let's Go on a Picnic at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden on Thursday, May 26th from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Art, science and craft activities will be included. Supplies provided. Tuition: $10. Please pre-register your child with a member of the art center staff at 801-392-6935.

Open mic at MOJOS:
hosted by Carlos Emjay. Free to all. Come musicians, dancers, poets, comedians & artists and the lovers of them all! 8pm but doors open @7:30 for early sign up. One buck coffee!
