In Ghana, students and faculty alike will participate in humanitarian projects including the distribution of bicycles (100% of which were donated by the Ogden community and later repaired by our good friends at the Ogden Bicycle Collective, Youth Impact, and Weber State) to women in rural areas to better enable them to gain upward economic mobility as well as to nurses for better physical mobility in reaching patients. Students will also be participating in clinical work to evaluate procedures that can be implemented in order to improve air quality in Ghana, as many workers work in toxic environments, such as tar pits, where their health is greatly compromised. Toxic environments like these contribute to a lower life expectancy and lower quality of life.
