Happy Hump Day at 11:39 AMThe week is almost over so don't panic yet, there is a lot happening today to keep your mind off of drudging through the work week. Explore your town, there is a lot to be seen. Did you know that Ogden has its own population of bald eagles? Head over to the Ogden nature center to learn more. With the help of Des Ta Te our bald eagle, You'll learn how eagles survive the winter and about local places that eagles call home and discover ways to observe wintering bald eagles. The Ogden chapter of the "Independent Film Society" is having its weekly meeting at Grounds for coffee on Historic 25th. Meet local film enthusiasts, drink some great coffee and make some friends. Everyone is welcome and its free! There is an amazing local project in the works called the Granny Starr foundation. Tonight is the first meeting to discuss all of the possibilities of Granny Starr. the foundation was started by Rachael blackman Collins of Foto Graffiti. The idea of Granny Starr is to provide free services to the elderly such as photo shoots, music, lunch dates and more. If you have a service that you think Granny Starr could use or if you'd like to get involved then PLEASE come by Urban Chic tonight at 6 to learn more. If your interested in learning about and preserving local history head over to the Hostlers railroad club meeting at the union station to learn about model railroads, the history of Ogden's railways and more OR try out the Golden spike gem and mineral club meeting. There will be a Demonstration on rock tumbling & a talk about mining on Ben Lomond Mountain. Mojos is having their weekly jam night so if your interested in playing go on and get on stage and if you just like to listen then snuggle up on the cozy couches with a cup of coffee. Feeling a bit country? head over to the Union station for the country dance. There will be all kinds of Swing Dancin’, Two-Steppin’, and Line Dancin’. You’ll also see people doing the Country Waltz, the Cowboy Cha Cha, the Night Club Two-Step, the Triple Step, the West Coast Swing and plenty of other kinds of dancing. So come out and give it a whirl! know you will love every minute.
