Staycation ogden utah 2011 at 11:10 AMThe weather was perfect, my sweetie had some days off work and our lovely friend was coming to town. We wanted to plan an amazing vacation but where to go? Being car free has some great limitations and we didn't want to spend a lot of money. Suddenly it became all too clear, we were going to have a STAYCATION! what is a staycation? A staycation is when you stay in your own town and find hidden treasures to explore; check out that restaurant you've been meaning to, find that hidden park you heard about and sneak around that so called haunted house. Our staycation turned out to be more amazing than we realized. Here are some pics from our epic adventures AKA the best few days of my life! we started the staycation off on Thursday with a High tea at the Vintage restaurant and tea room. We got the oolong and mad hatter teas, amazing! the scones were perfect as usual and the sandwiches were the best I've ever had. We barely had enough room for deserts but i managed to get a few bites delicious in. *mention indie Ogden and get 10% of your next meal!We got a little shopping done on 25Th. We went to Urban Chic and got a stetson hat and vintage clothes, sock monkey'n around for another vintage hat, Queen Bee for chocolates and treats and Uncommon Grounds for coffee and air hockey. We were so exhausted from walking that we spend the night cuddling on the couch and eating chocolate. Friday we stopped at Toppers bakery for some sweets for our bike trip! The folks here are so nice and the pastries are to die for. The bike ride on Ogden river parkway was amazing, clear skies and a beautiful view. There are so many places to stop and just watch the river. We found some hot springs and of course at our toppers treats while we soaked. The maple bar was incredible and so were the green and pink cookies and the Texas donut! A little hike around for the perfect picnic spot. We found a great place with incredible views of the river and mountains. Friday night we went to Fat cats for some good old fashioned arcade fun! My camera died so i couldn't capture all of the hilarity but lets just say i am not the most coordinated individual. Later we stopped at Brewskis to hear The Rugs. We had to leave early but not before catching a couple songs and having a peanut mustache competition. Saturday morning it was time for our dear friend to go. We took her to Dee's diner for yummy food and a hot fudge Sunday. I had a wonderful few days exploring Ogden ,Utah and laughing more than I've laughed in years. You don't have to leave your town to go on wild adventures, just hop on your bike and go. There is so much more of Ogden,Utah i want to explore and i can not wait for my next staycation! myinnerchick.com said on April 18, 2011 ~~Popping in from Lady Blogger. What a cool blog. Love it.
